Moomba is Australia’s largest annual free community festival. Celebrating its 70th year, the 5 day festival is held over Melbourne’s Labour Day weekend. It features the iconic Birdman Rally over the Yarra River, the Moomba Masters waterski tournament amongst a host of other activities to delight the whole family.
Working alongside Momentum Events Management, 1300TempFence had the pleasure of supplying temporary fencing, engineered temporary fence and crowd control barriers for the event.
Overall, 1300TempFence were contracted to supply and install:
- 2km x Engineered temporary fence – 54km spec 70%
- 551m x Temporary Fence
- 4km x Crowd Control Barriers
Our team began setting up on 19th February and worked tirelessly until the opening day on 7th March. During the bump in process, we had a dedicated team of up to 3 crews a day installing temporary fence and crowd control barriers. As soon as the event ended, we began the bump out process and wrapped up by 15th March with the assistance of 3 crews.
The event was a huge success, despite heatwave conditions causing a last minute cancellation of the parade. At 1300TempFence,we take great pride in being involved in one of Melbourne’s largest and most iconic events.
