CASE STUDY: SUMMERNATS
When it comes to large-scale events, careful planning and expert execution are essential to ensure everything runs smoothly. 1300TempFence was proud to play a role at Summernats, Australia’s premier car enthusiast festival held from January 2nd to January 5th, in Canberra. This high energy festival attracts thousands of car enthusiasts from across the country and we were honoured to provide our services to ensure a safe and well-organised event.
To meet the festival’s unique needs, 1300TempFence began installation in mid-December, with a full week dedicated to completing the setup. Our team worked efficiently and effectively to ensure everything was in place before the event began.
During this period, our team installed:
- 6 km of temporary fencing
- 2 km of crowd control barriers
- 60 portable toilets
Despite the large scale of the project and short timeframes, our experienced crew completed the installation ahead of the deadline, ensuring ample time for event organisers to finalise event prep.
One of the standout features of this year’s setup was a new gate configuration, designed to enhance safety during the popular drive-by area. Unlike previous years, this innovative gate arrangement helped to keep pedestrians off the main road, minimizing risks and improving crowd management and safety.
The temporary fencing also played a crucial role in defining spaces for various event activities, including:
- The Burnout competition
- Skid Row
- The Drifting competition
- The Drive-by area
Gus was outstanding in everything we asked of him, even when it was 6pm on Friday night and we needed more fence panels and blocks and he had them to us within the hour. Gus worked as a team with us and highly recommend him and his boys. Looking forward to more work with 1300TempFence.
